| The SP 960 is a single wheel manual buffing machine with a 7.5 hp
motor for heavier duty buffing applications. This manual buffer is fitted
with a 1 meter diameter wheel, which allows the buffing wheel to turn slower
and alleviate the requirement for hard pressure from the operator
because of the high surface feet per minute of the buffing wheel.
The large wheeled buffing machine allows the wheel to conform to
the part being polished, and reduces the risk of the buffing wheel
leaving an edge mark. The speed of the buffing wheel is
adjustable, 400 to 800 RPM (1000 rpm optional setting) through the variable
frequency drive. This is an indirect drive so the polishing
wheel and work load are NOT supported on the motor shaft and bearings,
and the motor can operate faster and more efficiently for both
electrical consumption and cooling of the motor.
This manual buffing machine is also available with a self-braking
motor (SP 960 BM).
